Don’t forget that the Friends building event is today at your local Toys’R’Us store from 12noon to 2pm. The frame looks super simple, but there may be a stand of some sort in the back. In any case, you should be in and out and still make it to lunch in a timely manner.

The app will only work with iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4 and iPad mini. Luckily, my iPad 2 will run it so I’ll have to download it this weekend and give it a whirl with my daughter. Have you tried it out? Let us know what you think in the comments!
Stephanie’s Monster Truck by Bricksky
Flickr user Tyler Sky (Bricksky) created this Monster Truck model for Stephanie. It features four wheel suspension, front steering, and a place for her pet poodle. He makes excellent use of rare silver elements in the shocks and engine. The whole model is excellent and I would have no problem buying this set for my daughter if this was a real set. My favorite part has to be the aggressive hubcaps.
You can check out more pictures in Tyler’s Stephanie’s Monster Truck flickr set.
Modified Heartlake High by tikitikitembo
Set 41005 Heartlake High may have just come out but that didn’t stop flickr user tikitikitembo from modifying it into a bigger, better high school building. Using two copies of the set and a pile of bricks from her own collection, she modified it to feature a full second story, a modified roof, tiled sidewalk and bike racks. The back of the building is still open, dollhouse-style, allowing easy access to the interior. Very nice!
If you weren’t lucky enough to purchase 41005 Heartlake High online from Target, you can buy it in store for the same sale price of $39.99. Alternatively, you can buy 41005 Heartlake High from Amazon.com for $49.97
5000245 Stephanie Review
Here is another polybag set for Stephanie…yes just Stephanie and nothing else. This is kind of a pointless set in my opinion because there’s nothing to really talk about. This particular version of Stephanie is available in three other sets: 3063 Heartlake Flying Club, 30105 Mailbox (which we just reviewed), and 3183 Stephanie’s Cool Convertible, so this version is not really that hard to get. It would have been nice to have her in a new outfit to make it worth acquiring one. I suppose I can mention that the set includes a blue 2×2 brick which acts as the stand for the mini-doll. Also my three year-old daughter took Stephanie’s hairpiece and tried to put it on her own head and said “that’s not for me.” She then proceeded to put it on my head as well. I thought that was just too cute not to share!
Here’s what the packaging looked like:
LEGO Friends Build-A-Frame Event This Saturday
If you’re looking for something to do this Saturday September 28th, head on over to your local Toys’R’Us store and check out their LEGO Friends building event. You can build the picture frame you see up there and take it home with you. The event runs from 12noon to 2pm. Call your local store and make sure they are participating before you head down, though, just to make sure you’re not wasting time and gas.
Massive LEGO Friends Sale
It’s been a long time since we’ve posted anything on this site. Having two kids will do that to you. Anyways, we’re going to double our efforts to update this blog regularly so to kick things off, here’s an announcement on a really nice sale for Friends sets:
Amazon and Target are putting some pretty nice discounts on LEGO Friends sets, anywhere from 20-32% off. There are a handful of sets that are cheaper on Target but I imagine that Amazon will match their sale price sooner or later; I’ve linked to both just in case. If you’re a REDCard member and live in one of the handful of states where Amazon charges sales tax, you’ll probably wanna hit Target as you’ll save an additional 5% and score free shipping as well. I won’t list every set on sale, instead just list some of the highlights. Of particular interest are the two biggest sets from the fall assortment of Friends: 41015 Dolphin Cruiser and 41005 Heartlake High are both 20% off. You can check out Target’s search results for LEGO Friends or Amazon’s results to get more of a complete listing.
